List of Banking Jobs // Find Your Niche In The
Financial And Banking Industry
A teller is an employee of a bank who deals directly with most
customers. In some places, this employee is known as a cashier.
Most teller jobs require cash handling experience and a high
school diploma. Most banks provide on the job training.
Tellers are considered a "front line" in the banking business. This
is because they are the first people that a customer sees at the
bank and are also the people most likely to detect and stop
fraudulent transactions in order to prevent losses at a bank
(counterfeit currency and checks, identity theft, confidence tricks,
etc.).
The position also requires tellers to be friendly and
interact with the customers, providing them with
information about customers' accounts and bank
services.
Tellers work from a station, usually located on a Teller Line. Most
stations have: A Teller system, which includes Cash Drawers,
Receipt Validator/Printers, Proof Work sorters, and paperwork used
for completing bank transactions. These transactions include:
■Check cashing, depositing
■Savings deposits, withdrawals
■Issuing negotiable items (cashier's checks, traveler's cheques,
money orders, federal draft issuances, etc.)
■Payment collecting
■Promotion of the financial institution's products (loans, mortgages,
etc.)
■Business referrals (trust, insurance, lending, etc.)
■Cash advances
■Savings bond purchase or redemption
■Resolving customer issues
■Balancing the vault, cash drawers, ATMs, and TAUs
■Batching and Processing Proof Work (On-Us/Not-On-Us Checks,
Payment Coupons, Counter Slips, etc.)
Loan officer
A loan officer is a person who serves as an intermediary between lending institutions and borrowers. They solicit loans, represent
creditors to borrowers, and represent borrowers to creditors.
Loan officers work for banks and other financial institutions.
They help individuals and businesses obtain funds from these lenders. Loan officers specialize in commercial, consumer and
mortgageloans. Loan counselors assist loan applicants who have difficulty qualifying for traditional loans.
Loan officer positions generally require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Banking, lending, or sales
experience is highly valued by employers; but that's not exactly true, sometimes it's depend of who you know, and who are you...
. Loan officers without college degrees usually advance to their positions from other jobs in an organization after acquiring
several years of work experience in various other occupations, such as teller or customer service representative.
Personal qualities such as sales ability, good interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong desire to succeed also are
important qualities for loan officers.
Become a Bank Customer Service Representative
Working in any type of customer service position makes you more attractive to a bank.
Become familiar with the bank's policies concerning customer accounts.
This may include fees, minimum balance requirements and other billing issues. Even if you do not work with accounts on a daily
basis, this information will be helpful in the event you need to answer questions about them.
training opportunities about the bank's products and services. To be able to answer clients' questions about the various banking
products, you need to have an in depth knowledge about them.
------------------------------- Branch Manager
Banks employ branch managers to control the day-to-day operations bank customers don't often see---hiring, payroll, customer
service, monitoring bank security, training employees, creating employee schedules and designing in-bank promotions.
Larger, chain banks in highly populated areas may have different responsibilities for the branch manager than individually run
banks in small towns; in general, the branch manager oversees the bank's processes and ensures it is serving its community.
Breaking Down Financial Securities Licenses
The financial industry is easy enough to break into, but carving out a viable long-term career niche is tough. To succeed in this
industry, one must have discipline, intelligence and a thick-skinned psyche. There are many different positions in the financial
services industry, and it often takes years for individuals to find and settle into a position that is a good fit for them.
So what job is the best fit for you? In this article, we'll give you the tools you need to begin making this important decision.
Character Traits
In general, if you are a persuasive and knowledgeable individual and don't mind working long hours, a job as a registered
representative might be a good fit. If, on the other hand, you love numbers, are good at math and excel spreadsheets, and relish
delving into the financials of a public company, then perhaps a career path as an analyst is your best bet.
'Registered Representative - RR'// A person who works for a brokerage company that is licensed by the Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) and acts as an account executive for clients trading investment products such as stocks, bonds and mutual
funds. Also known as an "account executive".
PERSONAL BANKER
Personal banker acts as an all-purpose liaison between the customer and the bank, providing – in most cases – whatever service
the customer needs.
This may include help with loan or mortgage applications, the buying and redeeming of certificates of deposits (CDs), the
depositing and withdrawal of funds, checking account transactions and helping with other customer needs.
Questions and problems which arise in the course of customer relations with a bank may also be answered and resolved by a
personal banker. So the position is critical to the success of a commercial bank because of its close and ongoing contact with
depositors and customers.
Many banks also offer brokerage services for the buying and selling of equities, U.S. Treasury notes and other investment
vehicles and charge the customer a commission for implementing these transactions, which are usually facilitated by a personal
banker.
Education and Personal Skills
Like most jobs in the banking industry, a personal banker should have an education – preferably, at least a bachelor's degree – in
business, finance, accounting, economics, business administration or mathematics. Guess what??? Some people became
personal banker with no degree. Sometimes is a question of who do you know, know the basics, be able to pass a test and climb
the ladder.
The loan officer analyzes the credit worthiness of a potential borrower by checking the customer's net worth, credit rating, job
history and compensation, collateral and other factors that affect creditm
'Investment Advisor'
As defined by the Investment Advisors Act of 1940, any person or group that makes investment recommendations or conducts
securities analysis in return for a fee, whether through direct management of client assets or via written publications.
An investment advisor who has sufficient assets to be registered with the SEC is known as a Registered Investment Advisor, or
RIA.
Investment advisors are prohibited from disseminating advice known to be deceitful or fraudulent, and from acting as a principal
on their own accounts by buying and selling securities between themselves and a client without prior written consent. May also
b referred to as a "financial advisor".
- 'Investment Banker' //
A person representing a financial institution that is in the business of raising capital for corporations and municipalities.
'Investment Banker' // An investment banker may not accept deposits or make commercial loans. Investment bankers are
the people who do the grunt work for IPOs and bond issues. --
------------------------------------------
'Certified Financial Planner - CFP'
The CFP legal team has provided its official definition, along with trademarks: CFP and Certified Financial Planner marks are
certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals
who successfully complete the CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
'Certified Financial Planner - CFP'
Those wanting to become a CFP professional must take extensive exams in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance,
estate planning and retirement. Attaining the CFP designation takes experience and a substantial amount of work.
CFP professionals must also complete continuing education programs each year to maintain their certification status. It is always
good idea to ask about a professional's educational background and references before allowing a CFP designee (or any other
financial professional) to manage your money. Don't be afraid to say "no thanks" if you feel that the person doesn't have
sufficient experience.
'Investment Advisor'
Mutual fund companies are generally included in the definition of investment advisors, but stockbrokers are not (they receive
fees from commissions and not asset-based compensation).
Most investment advisors charge either a flat fee for their services or a percentage of the assets being managed. In most
cases, there are very limited conflicts of interest between investment advisors and their clients, because the advisor will only
earn more if the clients' asset base grows as a result of the advisor's recommendations and securities selection.
--------------------------------------
'Institutional Investor'
A non-bank person or organization that trades securities in large enough share quantities or dollar amounts that they qualify for
preferential treatment and lower commissions.
Institutional investors face fewer protective regulations because it is assumed that they are more knowledgeable and better
able to protect themselves.
'Institutional Investor'
Watching what the big money is buying can sometimes be a good indicator, as they (supposedly) know what they are doing.
Some examples of institutional investors are pension funds and life insurance companies
Stockbrokers
A stockbroker acts as the interface between investors, stock traders and brokerage firms, conveying orders to buy and or sell
specific stocks.
The stockbroker usually interacts with clients via telephone, so a friendly, outgoing salesperson's temperament is also a
requirement for this position, which entails so much public contact
Education
A college degree in some business or finance-related area is desirable, but not necessary to become a stockbroker.
There are also licensing requirements for becoming a stockbroker, which include an examination to become a licensed General
Securities Registered Representative. This entitles the license holder to act as broker on behalf of customers, known as the
Series 7.

ECN // Electronic communication network //
An electronic communication network (ECN) is a financial term for a type of computer system that facilitates trading of
financial products outside of stock exchanges. The primary products that are traded on ECNs are stocks and currencies.
The first ECN, Instinet, was created in 1969. ECNs increase competition among trading firms by lowering transaction costs, giving
clients full access to their order books, and offering order matching outside of traditional exchange hours.
To trade with an ECN, one must be a subscriber or have an account with a broker that provides direct access trading. ECN
subscribers can enter orders into the ECN via a custom computer terminal or network protocols. The ECN will then match
contra-side orders (i.e. a sell-order is "contra-side" to a buy-order with the same price and share count) for execution.
The ECN will post unmatched orders on the system for other subscribers to view. Generally, the buyer and seller are anonymous,
with the trade execution reports listing the ECN as the party.
Algorithmic trading //
In electronic algorithmic trading or automated trading, also known as algo trading, black-box trading or robo trading, is the use of
electronic platforms for entering trading orders with an algorithm deciding on aspects of the order such as the timing, price, or
quantity of the order, or in many cases initiating the order without human intervention.
Algorithmic trading is widely used by pension funds, mutual funds, and other buy side (investor driven) institutional traders, to
divide large trades into several smaller trades in order to manage market impact, and risk
Algorithmic trading
Algorithmic Trading Strategy Algorithmic trading (also called automated, algo, and black box trading) is a term describing the use
of computer software programmes to initiate trades in electronic financial markets based on sets of algorithms. These
programmes are extremely beneficial to trading firms in many ways

Free Unlimited Calling, Local & Long-distance Free, Free 411 Information calls : Make Google Voice, Skype, Magicjack Work For You.-- Free Cable TV. -------------------KNOWLEDGEFINANCIAL.COM First, a little warning What I’m about to propose may be prohibited by your cell phone company. After all, they want to make as much money as possible from you. So make sure to check your cell provider’s terms of use before making this your full-time way of calling.
Now the good stuff Google has built up a reputation of giving things away for free. Their Google Docs tools essentially replace Microsoft Office (for free) --also free). Click here for a list of free Google services.--
But one Google product you might not be familiar with yet is Google Voice. The service gives you a free local phone number from which you can make and receive unlimited national calls without paying a dime (their international rates are also some of the lowest I’ve seen).
How does it work? Google forwards all calls it receives on your Google Voice phone number to any other phone number(s) you specify. This can be a land line, cell phone, or any combination of multiple numbers.
Thus, you can give out your Google Voice phone number and when someone calls, you can have it ring your home phone, your work phone and your cell phone all at the same time.
But here’s the killer feature… Google Voice lets you decide whether you want incoming calls to show the actual caller ID of the person calling you, or just your Google Voice phone number. So if you set things up right, every single call coming in from your new Google Voice phone number will look like it’s coming from only your Google Voice phone number. This is a really good thing if your cell phone plan has a “Top 5 Friends” feature (or something similar) where you can choose several phone numbers to make and receive unlimited calls from.

What Is an Equity Fund?
An Introduction to Equity Funds for Mutual Fund Investors
What Are the Different Types of Equity Funds?
To go one step further than answering "What is an equity fund?", we need to look at the different types of
equity funds currently available to investors.
For sake of clarity, let's break equity funds down into a handful of the categories you are most likely to
encounter throughout your investment journey.
====
Equity Funds Focused on Geographic Mandate
International Equity Funds are those that invest in stocks outside of the United States.
Global Equity Funds are those that invest in stocks around the world including those in the United States but
tend to favor foreign stocks by at least 80% of their overall portfolio weighting.
Worldwide Equity Funds are those that invest in stocks around the world with no distinction between
domestic or international assets, following wherever the portfolio managers or methodology dictate.
Domestic Equity Funds are those that invest in stocks solely in the home country of the investor and issuer.
For most readers, this will be the United States.
======
Equity Funds Focused on Market Capitalization
Mega Cap Equity Funds are those that invest in stocks of the biggest companies in the world; behemoths
worth hundreds of billions of dollars like Walmart or Berkshire Hathaway.
Large Cap Equity Funds are those that invest in companies with a large market capitalization.
Mid Cap Equity Funds are those that invest in companies with a medium market capitalization.
Small Cap Equity Funds are those that invest in companies with a small market capitalization.
======
Private Equity Funds are those that invest in privately held companies that don't trade on the stock
market. They may setup a limited liability company, infuse millions, or even billions, of dollars into it, raise
money by issuing bonds,
======
Equity Income Funds are those that invest in ownership of businesses that pay a significant
dividend, often measured by a history of dividend increases, absolute and relative dividend yield, and
conservative dividend coverage ratios
====
Index Equity Funds are those that mimic an index such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average or the
S&P 500. Though not always true, index equity funds tend to have some of the lowest mutual fund expense
ratios.
=====
Different Ways You Can Invest in Equity Funds
When you decide that investing in an equity fund is the route you want to take for your portfolio, you have
several options that might make sense. You can:
Invest by opening an account directly with a mutual fund family such as Vanguard or Fidelity.
Invest by buying shares of an equity mutual fund through a brokerage account.
Invest by buying shares of an equity mutual fund through your 401(k) or 403(b) plan at work (note that there
are often different mutual fund share classes to reward investors who put more money to work with an asset
management group).
Open a Roth IRA or Traditional IRA at a brokerage firm and use it to buy shares of an equity mutual fund.

-----
Portfolio investment:
Portfolio investments are investments in the form of a group (portfolio) of assets, including transactions in
equity, securities, such as common stock, and debt securities, such as banknotes, bonds, and debentures. -
Portfolio investments are passive investments, as they do not entail active management or control of the
issuing company.
They are categorized in two major parts: foreign institutional investment and investments by non-residents.
According to the Institute of International Finances, portfolio flows arise through the transfer of ownership of
securities from one country to another.
Portfolio investment covers a range of securities, such as stocks and bonds, as well as other types of
investment vehicles. A diversified portfolio helps spread the risk of possible loss because of
below-expectations performance of one or a few of them.

Understanding Wealth Management
Wealth management is more than just investment advice, as it can encompass all parts of a person's financial

professionals, high net worth individuals benefit from a holistic approach in which a single manager
coordinates all the services needed to manage their money and plan for their own or their family's current and
